Helping Hands Abroad

Some Helping Hands projects offer the opportunity to help abroad. Voluntary assignments for individuals are limited but may be possible in a few locations; please contact us for more details. Beyond that, Work & Witness Teams regularly visit different countries, usually for some type of construction work.

In the past, Work & Witness Teams from Germany (organized through the Church of the Nazarene Germany District, not Helping Hands) have visited the following countries:

2012 Sri Lanka, Badulla: construction of a ministry centre with child development centre
2010 Russia, Ulyanovsk: renovation of the church centre
2008 Madagascar, Morondava: work on church centre
2006 Madagascar, Nosy Be: playground for street kids centre, work on church centre
2005 Sri Lanka, Hatton: construction of a training and rehabilitation centre for tsunami victims (W&W team of the Gelnhausen church)
2004 Madagascar, Antananarivo: carpentry centre for young street kids, radio recording studio
2002 Mozambique, Maputo: work on church centre
2000 Mozambique, Maputo: work on Bible school building

In the Nineties, German teams also travelled to Kenya, South Africa (Kailidsha) and Zimbabwe (Bulawayo). The next team will visit Kenya in 2015.

paXan logoFor Young Adults
Helping Hands in collaboration with Nazarene Youth International Germany offer a special type of Work & Witness team for young adults in Germany: paXan. paXan teams go on ministry trips every year, usually alternating between locations further abroad and closer to home.
